Vector Data Services strives to keep our client's personal information safe and secure from any unauthorized modification, viewing, or circulation. Any Personal Information sent to the Vector Data Services web site by any individual participating in our online survey process is encrypted using SSL (Secure Socket Layering). SAFE HARBOR
Vector Data Services, Inc. adheres to the Safe Harbor framework as agreed upon by the United States Department of Commerce and the European Commission. This framework includes a set of seven data protection principles and fifteen frequently asked questions, together know as the "Safe Harbor Principles" that enable US companies to satisfy the European Union law requirement that adequate protection be given to Personal Information transferred from the EU to the United States. Vector Data Services adheres to the Safe Harbor Principles.
SCOPE
This Safe Harbor Privacy Policy (the "Policy") applies to all Personal Information received by Vector Data Services in the United States from the European Union (EU) in any format including electronic, paper or verbal.
DEFINITIONS USED SOLELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE POLICY
"Agent" means any third party that collects, processes or otherwise uses Personal Information on behalf of, and under the direction of, Vector Data Services.
"Vector Data Services" means Vector Data Services, Inc. and its partners Vector Group, Inc. and Vector Europe Business Consultants, Ltd.
"Personal Information" means any information that could reasonably be used to identify an individual. Personal Information includes items such as name, address, telephone number, e-mail address. Personal Information does not include information that is encoded or encrypted, or information that is publicly available.
PRIVACY PRINCIPLES
The privacy principles in this Policy are based on the seven Safe Harbor Principles.
NOTICE: When Vector Data Services collects Personal Information from individuals in the EU, it will inform those individuals about the kinds of Personal Information collected, the purposes for which it collects and uses information about them, how to contact Vector Data Services with any inquires or complaints, the types of third parties to which Vector Data Services may disclose the information, and the choices and means Vector Data Services offers individuals for limiting its use and disclosure. This notice will be provided in clear and conspicuous language when individuals are first asked to provide personal information to Vector Data Services, or as soon thereafter as practicable, but in any event before Vector Data Services uses such information for a purpose other than that for which it was originally collected.
CHOICE: Vector Data Services will offer individuals the opportunity to choose (opt-out) whether their Personal Information is (a) to be disclosed to a third party, or (b) to be used for a purpose that is incompatible with the purpose(s) for which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized by the individual. Individuals will be provided with clear and conspicuous, readily available, an affordable mechanisms to exercise choice.
For sensitive Personal Information (i.e. personal information specifying medical or health conditions, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership or information specifying the sex life of an individual), Vector Data Services will provide individuals with the opportunity to affirmatively and explicitly consent (opt-in) if the information is to be disclosed to a third party or used a purpose other than the purpose for which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized by the individual through the exercise of opt in choice. In any case, Vector Data Services will treat as sensitive any information received from a third party where the third party treats and identifies it as sensitive.
Vector Data Services will provide individuals with reasonable mechanisms to exercise their choices should requisite circumstances arise.
ONWARD TRANSFER: Prior to engaging a third party Agent to collect, process or otherwise use Personal Information, Vector Data Services will ascertain that that third party either subscribes to the Safe Harbor Principles or will enter into a written agreement requiring that they provide at least the same level of privacy protection as is required by the relevant Safe Harbor Principles. If Vector Data Services becomes aware that an Agent is using or disclosing Personal Information in a manner that is not consistent with this Policy, Vector Data Services will take immediate action to correct the violation.
SECURITY: Vector Data Services will take reasonable precautions to protect Personal Information in its possession from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.
DATA INTEGRITY: Vector Data Services will use Personal Information only in such ways that are compatible with the purposes for which it was collected or subsequently authorized by the individual. To the extent necessary for these purposes, Vector Data Services will take reasonable steps to ensure that data is relevant to its intended use, accurate, complete, and current.
ACCESS: Upon request, Vector Data Services will provide individuals reasonable access to Personal Information that it holds about them. In addition, Vector Data Services will take reasonable steps to permit individuals to correct, amend, or delete information where it is inaccurate, except where the burden or expense of providing access would be disproportionate to the risks to the individual's privacy, or where the rights of persons other than the individual would be violated.
ENFORCEMENT: Vector Data Services will conduct compliance audits of its relevant privacy practices to verify adherence to this Policy and the US Department of Commerce Safe Harbor Principles. Any employee that Vector Data Services determines is in violation of this policy will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Individuals who have concerns or question regarding the use or disclosure of their Personal Information should contact Vector Data Services directly at the address given below. Vector Data Services will make every reasonable effort to resolve disputes that may arise over the use, accuracy, or disclosure of Personal Information. If disputes cannot be resolved between Vector Data Services and the individual, Vector Data Services has agreed to participate in the dispute resolution procedures of the panel established by the European data protection authorities to resolve disputes pursuant to the Safe Harbor Principles.

CHANGES TO THIS SAFE HARBOR PRIVACY POLICY
The practices described in this Policy are current Personal data protection policies as of November 30, 2004. Vector Data Services reserves the right to modify or amend this Policy at any time consistent with the requirements of the Safe Harbor Principles. Appropriate public notice will be given concerning such amendments.
